Kotys Vasil

1984

Vasyl Kotys is a Ukrainian pianist, born on 27 September 1984 in Zolochiv, Lviv region. He studied at the Zolochiv Music School, piano class with Lyudmyla Hryhorovych.

From 1998 to 2009, he studied at the Lviv Special Music School named after S. Krushelnytska and at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv Music Academy in the class of Professor, People's Artist of Ukraine, Maria Krushelnytska.

Since 2009, he has been studying at the Higher School of Music and Theatre in Rostock (Germany) in the class of Professor Matthias Kirschneit.

He is a laureate of numerous All-Ukrainian and International piano competitions, including: H. Neuhaus (Kirovohrad, 2002), "Classik - Podillya 2004" (Khmelnytsky), F. Chopin (Czech Republic, 2006), E. Hillels (Odesa, 2006), V. Horowitz (Kyiv, 2010), F. Mendelssohn (Berlin, 2010), and others. Mendelssohn (Berlin, 2010), Beethoven (Czech Republic, 2011), Scriabin (Italy, 2013), Bremen (Germany, 2014), finalist of the Bosendorfer Competition (Germany, 2014). ), finalist of the Bosendorfer piano competition (Phoenix, USA, 2015), "Baltic" (Poland, 2016), San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy, 2017), MozArte (Germany, 2017), "Roberta Gallinari" (Italy, 2017) ...

He gave solo concerts in Ukraine and abroad, in particular: Lviv, Odesa, Germany, the USA, Poland, Croatia, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Norway...

as well as with orchestras: the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra (USA), the National Symphony Orchestra of the Kyiv Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Odesa Philharmonic, the NDR Symphony Orchestra, the Norddeutsche Philharmonie, the Bremer Philharmoniker, the Phoenix Symphony and others.

His performances have been recorded on NDR, Deutschlandradio, Bremen Rundfunk, RTBF Belgique...

He is a regular participant of festivals: Gezeitenkonzerte, Festspiele Meckleburg-Vorpommern (Germany), Peter de Grote Festival (Netherlands), "Ahreensqof fest"
