Leonid Korinets (1 January 1959, Nepolokivtsi village, Kitsman district, Chernivtsi region - 8 October 2015) was a Ukrainian pop singer, soloist of the Chernivtsi Regional Philharmonic. Honoured Artist of Ukraine (2002).
Biography.
He was born on 1 January 1959 in the village of Nepolokivtsi, Kitsman district, Chernivtsi region. He graduated from the Nepolokivtsi Secondary School and the Kitsman Music School. He began his career in 1980 as a soloist of the variety and experimental theatre "Wheel" of the Chernivtsi Regional Philharmonic.
Creative activity
He took part in the concert activities of the Philharmonic. Possessing a beautiful velvety voice (tenor), he expanded his repertoire with works glorifying the independence of Ukraine and his native land. He actively performed in the Philharmonic for Children, Schoolchildren and Students music subscription, and toured Ukrainian cities in the artistic programme "The President's Wife for the Children of Ukraine". He toured Poland (1992), Romania (1993), the Czech Republic (1999), took part in the First Nazariy Yaremchuk Festival of Contemporary Ukrainian Pop Song, and performed in the creative report of artistic groups of the Chernivtsi region on the stage of the National Palace of Culture "Ukraine".
