Kolyada Oleksandr Volodymyrovych

Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Koliada (stage name Oles Koliada, 11 June 1949, Berdychiv) is a singer, accordionist, composer, journalist, and musical instrument restorer. Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (2010). For more than 50 years of his career, he has composed about 2,000 pieces of music and received numerous honours and awards.

The composer has written music for the anthem of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, sports for the disabled of Ukraine, many educational institutions, factories, cities, including Berdychiv, Romaniv and Korosten. Oles is a stage name that was given to him by his friend Matvey Anychkin, a producer, composer, and one of the founders of the rock band Cruise.
Biography
Born in Berdychiv on 11 June 1949. He studied at the Rivne Music College (1965-67; teacher - V. Holubnychyi), graduated from the Lutsk Music College. He graduated from the Lutsk Music College (1969; teacher - V. Korol).

He studied composition in Moscow at the University of Arts (Moscow, 1981). He served in the Carpathian Military District.

In 1973-74, he was an artist of the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv Philharmonic; 1974-75, he was a soloist of the Young Voices Ensemble (Russia); 1982, he was an artist of the Malvy Ensemble at the Ukrconcert; 1982-85, he was a soloist of the Belarusian Syabry Ensemble.

"I recorded 5 vinyl discs in Syabry, I was very prominent in the programme, I did a lot of work in the band, I sang solo songs. We sang a lot of songs that became star songs. These are "Glukharina Zarya", "Shumite, berezy", "Alesya", the composer recalls. "
1987-91 - an artist of the circus group "Divaki" at the Berdychiv Palace of Culture. 1991-98 he toured with the author's creative programme "Man-Orchestra". At the same time, since 1993, he has been working as a master restorer and tuner of musical instruments in educational, cultural, preschool institutions and museums of Ukraine. He is also a journalist. His songs have been included in the repertoire of such well-known performers as O. Vasylenko, P. Zibrov, S. Fitsych, V. Oberemko, V. Voloshchuk, P. Mrezhuk, and others. Kolyada collaborated with the Song and Dance Ensembles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Air Force of Ukraine. He is the author and performer of songs based on the words of Lesia Ukrainka, V. Sosiura, contemporary poets B. Oliinyk, M. Syngaivskyi, M. Tkach, M. Lukiv, V. Kryshchenko, H. Chubach, O. Bakumenko, L. Fedoruk, A. Kondratiuk, M. Pasichnyk, Natalia Mazur, and others.
