Kolomiets Anatoly Panasovych

1918-1997

Ukrainian composer and teacher, professor, Honored Artist of Ukraine.
Biography.

He studied in Velyki Sorochyntsi, at the Poltava Music College. He was a student of Levko Revutsky.

He was one of the first in Ukraine to create a musical genre of piano transcription - a fantasy on the themes of the opera Taras Bulba by Mykola Lysenko, vocal works by Lev Revutsky.

He made a great contribution to the field of musical editing of works by Ukrainian composers - Mykh. Verikivskyi, Hryhoriy Veriovka, Vykh. Kosenko, Kir. Stetsenko.

His works include:

choirs "Son",
"Hopak",
a play for bandura "Ukrainian Sonata",
ballet Ulyanka,
works for piano,
symphonic works,
vocal and symphonic works,
chamber and instrumental works,
arrangements of folk songs.

In his honor, a memorial plaque was erected in Kyiv on the house where he lived in 1956-1997.

The characteristic features of his works are artistic perfection, filigree elegance of musical language and simultaneous simplicity and clarity of the image.
