Klyashtornyi Konstantin Viliyovych

Kostyantyn Viliyovych Klyashtornyi (born 13 February 1971, Korosten, Zhytomyr region) is a Ukrainian jazz saxophonist, composer, and producer. Since 2000 he has lived in the Netherlands. Since 2009, he has been living and working in Germany.
He was born in Korosten, Zhytomyr region. The youngest of three children, he received an excellent education and upbringing in his family. His father, Vilii Akymovych Kliashtornyi, was an engineer, and his mother, Alla Vasylivna Avramenko (Kliashtorna), was a teacher. When he was 9 years old, his mother, noticing his early musical abilities and hoping to nurture his talent and love of art, took Konstantin to the local music academy near his school.

He successfully passed an aptitude test, was accepted and began studying in the brass group, majoring in clarinet. At the age of 13, while still at the academy, he took up the saxophone on his own. At the age of 14, Konstantin graduated from school and began studying at the R. M. Glière Kyiv State Higher Music College.

After graduation, he became a member of the Jazz Uncle Band under the direction of Petro Pashkov, with whom he participated in various festivals in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Donetsk, Kryvyi Rih, as well as in Vitebsk (Slavic Bazaar) and Budapest (Jazz Rock Jamboree). At that time, he collaborated with Taisiya Povaliy.

1994-2000 lived in Latin America, where he studied Latin musical styles.

Since 2000, he has been living in the Netherlands, where he graduated from the conservatories in Rotterdam and The Hague. After 8 years, he moved from the Netherlands to Germany, where he still lives an active creative life and works on new jazz compositions.

He has collaborated with Eric Marienthal, Dionne Warwick, Soledad Bravo, Biella Da Costa, Oscar de Leon and others.
