Khoralov Arkady Dmitrievich

1951

Arkadii Dmytrovych Khoralov (*26 January 1951, Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region) - poet, composer, singer, soloist of the popular vocal groups Chervona Ruta, Samotsvity and Chervonyi Maky.

Wife: Oksana Mykolaivna Khoruzhenko, a specialist in management. Daughters: Irina (born in 1972), an economist; Anna (born in 1991), a school student.
Biography.
Graduated from a music school with a degree in piano. He worked in the local Melitopol band "Gryfi".

In 1972, Arkadiy Khoralov graduated from the Melitopol Institute of Agricultural Mechanisation (now the Tavriya State Academy) with a degree in engineering in the organisation and technology of machine repair. After graduation, he worked as an engineer at the Melitopol Agricultural Machinery Association.

In parallel with his studies, Arkady performed as a soloist in the Academic Variety Orchestra.

Since September 1972, Arkady has been working as a solo vocalist with the Kostroma Philharmonic's Singing Guitars.

Chervona Ruta
While on tour in Chernivtsi, the young singer was invited by the deputy director of the local Philharmonic to join the Chervona Ruta All-Arts Ensemble - artistic director Anatoliy Yevdokymenko, and since December 1974 he has been working as a member of this ensemble. Arkadiy sings solo parts at concerts, as well as in a duet with singer Sofia Rotaru.

Since October 1975, the singer has been trying his hand as a soloist with the State Variety Jazz Orchestra of Armenia under the direction of Konstantin Orbelian.

Gems
Since November 1976, at the invitation of musician Vitaly Kretiuk, the singer has been working in the Moscow VIA "Samotsviti" - artistic director Yuri Malikov. While working in the Samotsvity ensemble, Arkady performed a number of songs, and one of them was a hit song - "Bitter Honey" (O. Ivanov - V. Pavichev).

Yuriy Malikov spoke about Arkady's work in his interview: "I believe that Arkady is one of the three most interesting vocalists of his time and he is undoubtedly one of the most gifted composers."

"Red Poppies"
Since 1979, Arkady has been working in the Red Poppies Vocal Ensemble - artistic director Valery Chumenko, from the Tula Philharmonic, together with musicians Alexander Losev, Yuri Chernavsky, Ruslan Gorobets, Alexander Kalugin, Sergei Levinovsky, Yuri Shcheglov, Sarkhan Kurbanbekov, soloist Nadezhda Kusakin and others.

In 1980, Melodiya released their first disc, the giant If We Don't Part, on the Melodiya label. VIA "Red Poppies", which features songs recorded by Arkady: "Meet Me" (O. Morozov - I. Kokhanovsky), "Let's Try to Return" (A. Koralov - A. Dementiev), "You're a Stranger" (V. Dobrynin - M. Platskovsky).

In the same year, the singer recorded his original songs for the next disc giant "Spinning Discs" of the VIA "Red Poppies": "Remember" and "Everything is Clear" with lyrics by Igor Kokhanovsky.

Musicologist Yuriy Pugachev wrote in his review about the work of young musicians: "With the arrival of new performers in the ensemble - Yuriy Chernavsky - keyboard instruments, Yuriy Koganovych - guitar - solo and rhythm, Sarkhan Sarkhan - acoustic guitar, vocals and Arkadiy Koralov - vocals, the vocal and musical style of the group changed dramatically. The songs sounded in unusual, light, modern tones. All this was due to the bold use of new arrangement techniques, new means of musical expression (synthesiser, keyboard, string, electric piano)."

In 1981, while recording his first author's album "Day by Day" at the Melodiya company, composer Vyacheslav Dobrynin turned to the works of Arkady Khoralov and included in the disc - a giant of a song performed by the young popular singer and the Red Poppies ensemble - "Tell Me the Truth" with lyrics by Igor Kokhanovsky, "If You Have Your Own Way", "If You Go", "You Don't Need Me" with lyrics by Leonid Derbenov.

At the same time, Arkady Khoralov's song "That's All" with lyrics by Andrey Dementiev was recorded by Alexey Glyzin and the Veseli Khlopyaty (Merry Boys) at the Melody Company.
In the same year, VIA's minion Red Poppies was released, featuring two original works by the young singer and composer Arkady Koralov based on the words of the poet Andrey Dementyev: "Let's be silent" and "Let me look into your eyes".

While working in the Red Poppies ensemble, Arkady gained popularity and recognition as a performer and composer of his own songs.

The popular pop singer Valeriy Obodzinsky included in his repertoire the song written by Arkady to the lyrics of Andriy Dementiev "Let's be quiet".

Solo career
In 1984, Arkady began his solo career as a singer and performer of his own songs to the lyrics of the poet Andrei Dementiev, with whom he has been working and being friends for all his years on the stage. The songs written by Arkady spread throughout our country, like the aroma of blossoming cherry orchards, which are abundant in the region where the singer and composer was born.

According to Arkady: "The stage is always an excitement because it is a meeting with the audience and you always have to do everything to make the audience satisfied with the performance."

In 1985, the All-Union Recording Company Melodiya released the young singer and composer's first disc, a mini-musical Bez Tebe, which featured his songs: "The Abandoned Forest", "Sunday" and "Without You" with lyrics by poet Andriy Dementiev. These songs were recorded by musicians with extensive experience on the Soviet stage:

Yuriy Kitayev - percussion instruments.
Later, at the Melodiya company, Arkadiy Khoralov recorded his own albums, which were released on giant discs.

In 1985, with the participation of the poet Andrei Dementiev, he released the album "Infinity", which sold more than 1 million 300 thousand copies in the USSR.

In 1988, he released another album "Wonderful World" with lyrics by Andriy Dementiev, which sold over 800,000 copies, and in 1990, a new album "Where I am and You", which sold no less than that - which only underlines the popularity of Arkady Koralov's songs.

Musicologist Mikhail Sigalov writes: "The name of Arkady Khoralov has been well known to fans of popular music since the mid-70s. Back then, he performed mainly as a performer and less often as a songwriter. Today, his own creativity has become the basis of his artistic path."

Later, the singer recorded his own albums on compact discs.

In 1994, the singer released the album "My Wonderful World", which contains songs from the period of his career from 1985 to 1993.

In 2000, the singer released the album "I am your prisoner".

In 2005, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his career, Arkady Khoralov pleased his fans by releasing five of his solo albums simultaneously:

"Let's Try to Return",
"Infinity",
"Wonderful World",
"I am your prisoner",
"I'll Call.
These CDs, along with the songs of the musician's early work, also contain new songs.

Currently, the singer tours a lot, participates in collective concerts of legendary Ukrainian pop artists. "Despite the external changes, he remains true to himself and, as before, is engaged in a clearly chosen direction - dance, disco music, so to speak, "comfortable" melodies," - said musicologist Mikhail Sigalov about the work of the talented and unique singer and composer Arkady Koralov.

Awards and titles
Arkady Dmitrievich was awarded the Certificate of Honour of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin for selfless service to the Motherland.

А. D. Khoralov is a member of the International Union of Entertainers. In 2003, he ran for the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the fourth convocation.

His main hobby outside of his creative work is driving a car. His favourite leisure activity is fishing.

Arkady Khoralov sees his minimum task as continuing his concert and studio activities and maintaining the public's genuine interest in his work. In fact, it is in this daily desire to make his work bring joy to as many fans as possible that Arkady Dmitrievich sees the main purpose of life.

He dreams of peace between nations and the well-being of his native land.

The brightest memory in the creative life of Arkady Koralov, like many pop artists, is his first appearance on the professional stage. The moments in his life when he had to say goodbye to his friends and colleagues who passed away prematurely, such as Yevgeny Martynov, Vladimir Migulya, Igor Talkov and many other talented people, left a heavy mark on his soul and sad memories.
His main motto in life is "Forward to victory!".
