Biography
early years
Father - Stepan Oleksiiovych Khoma, a veterinarian, graduated from the Lviv Veterinary Institute (now S. Z. Gzhitsky Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology). Mother - Halyna Yanivna Khoma (Markul), a printing polygraphy technologist, graduated from the Polygraphic Technical School.
Mykhailo was born on November 20, 1983 in the village of Bortnyki, Zhydachiv District. The singer spent his childhood in this village, then at the age of 4 he moved with his parents to Novoyavorivsk. In 1991, he entered the Novoyavoriv school No. 1, at the same time, his parents sent their son to a local music school for the vocal and choral department. The first vocal teacher was Lesya Mykolayivna Omelyan, who opened the world of academic vocals to Mykhailo.
At a young age, he was called Robertino Loretti, because he participated in all the concerts at the music school and concerts in the city. The first significant achievement in the artist's life was the first prize at the Pyotr Tchaikovsky Competition (1995). Mykhailo liked classical and pop music, pop singer Ivan Popovych was the idol of the young artist of that time. In the same year, Mykhailo's father accidentally met him and offered to listen to his son. On the advice of Ivan Popovych, Mykhailo Khoma began to practice vocals with Mykhailo Rusyn in Yavorov. The artist went through a powerful and enduring school, for which he owes to Mykhailo Mykhailovych Rusyn. It was he who started Khoma's preparation for concerts and competitions.
Mykhailo, winner of contests and festivals: Competition named after Pyotr Tchaikovsky (first prize), Golden Trembits (1996), "Spivanochka-jazochka" (1996, first prize), "Evenings over Latoritsa" (first prize), "Singing" (grand prize), "Flowers of Prykarpattia" (grand prize), "Black Sea Games" (2000, second prize), "Young Galicia" (1996, first prize, 1999, grand prize) and others.
In 1997, Stepan's father died. The young man was raised by his grandparents.
1998 year
After graduating from the music school, he entered the Lviv School of Music, where he studied at the conducting faculty. Mykhailo's teacher was Oksana Ivanovna Maksymovych. The head of this faculty was Kos-Anatolsky's wife, Nadiya.
2004 year
After the conducting faculty, he entered the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts in order to continue the development of pop vocals. After studying for two years at a day hospital, he transferred to the correspondence form and returned to Lviv.
In this city, Mykhailo created the band "Druzi", with which he performed at weddings and private events. The team included: Vasyl Bula, Yaroslava Khoma (Prytula), Serhiy Lyba, Roman Kulyk, Nazariy Huk, Ihor Grynchuk, Orest Zhuk. The group gained wide publicity and was a model for other groups. At the same time, Mykhailo began teaching vocals to children at his own studio in the Palace of Culture "Krystal".
Also at that time Khoma cooperated with the group "Mercury" (collective of the Customs Service of Ukraine), in which Vasyl Bula was the soloist. Through cooperation with this team, he received an invitation to work.
Mykhailo completed an internship at customs at the Krakow checkpoint. Realizing that his main vocation is music, he interrupted his internship and continued his musical career.
2008 year
Mykhailo recorded a cover version of the song "Calendar", the authors of which were Andrii Kuzmenko and Oleg Turko. After hearing this option, Kuzmenko offered to make a cover version of the song "Old Photos". Later, a video clip is shot on her. Mykhailo initiates the name "Dzidzo": that's what his Polish grandfather, Jan Kazimirovych Markul, was called. Kuzmenko supported, but later on his recommendation, the image of "Dzidzo" was suspended, the band "Sex Shop Boys" was created, in which Mykhailo is the soloist of the band.
Simultaneously performing at corporate events with the band "Druzi", Mykhailo as a leader, in the breaks, entertains his friends with funny stories, using Nadsyan speech and the voice of an "old grandfather". This is how Dzidzia's monologues were formed, which later gained wide popularity through transmission through an infrared port.
2009 year
Mykhailo is invited to perform at a private event, where he meets Anatoly Bezukh, the future producer of DZIDZIO. Since then, the logo is written in Latin. It was created (visualization) by Roman Cheryba, who presented it to Mykhailo for his birthday. In the same year, the DZIDZIO group begins a new cycle. The group "Sex Shop Boys", having not existed for a year, stops its activities.
2010-2011 year
Andriy Kuzmenko created the song "Yalta", after which, by mutual agreement, he stopped cooperating with the "Sex Shop Boys" band, and Anatoly Bezuh became the producer of the DZIDZIO band.
2011-2019 years
The band DZIDZIO, led by Mykhailo, is actively touring and releasing new original songs, supporting them with original short films, which are loved by the whole nation. It is they who become the impetus for a full-length film.
year 2013
On May 18, 2013, a significant event took place in Mykhailo's life: he and the band DZIDZIO played a solo concert at the stadiumno "Arena Lviv" and was the first in Ukrainian show business to gather an audience of more than 25,000 people.
2016-2017 year
Mykhailo is working on his first feature film DZIDZIO Contrabass. The artist appears in the role of the author of the idea, producer, screenwriter and main character of the film. It was she who won in the "Viewer's Choice" nomination at the "Golden Dzyga" award. DZIDZIO Contrabass also set a box office record among Ukrainian films.
2018 year
This year, DZIDZIO once again gathers the Arena Lviv stadium with the mega-show "Super-puper", which is timed to the release of the new album.
Also, the artist appears in the role of director, author of the idea, producer and performer of the main role in the new full-length film "DZIDZIO First Time". This film received two awards at the Golden Spindle Award (3rd award ceremony) in the nominations "Audience Award" and "Best Sound Producer".
On November 20, Mykhailo, on the occasion of his birthday, as part of the "Super-puper" tour, gathered the capital's Palace of Sports and an audience of more than 10,000 people. For the first time in Ukraine, the show used a 400 m² solid LED screen and the most powerful lighting devices.
2019 year
Mykhailo performed the national anthem before the match between the national teams of Ukraine and Lithuania, which surprised fans and star colleagues. Since then, he has become the ambassador of the Ukrainian national football team.
At the end of the year, the artist began work on a large project, which combined an updated version of the national anthem of Ukraine and a recording of the spiritual anthem of Ukraine - "God is Great, One". Mykhailo involved 100 young musicians under the leadership of conductor Oksana Liniv to create the recording.
2020 is the year
This year Mykhailo presented a video clip for the spiritual hymn of Ukraine "Prayer for Ukraine". Work on the recording continued in the Kyiv Recording House, where more than 100 musicians and choristers can be recorded at the same time. The conductor of the project was Oksana Lyniv.
On August 24, he performed the national anthem of Ukraine at the celebrations on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine and was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.
2022 year
In April 2022, Mykhailo sang together with Ukrainian artists the song "Ukraine will win", written by Oleksandr Ponomarev. Also involved were: Taras Topolya, Yuriy Tkach, Yevhen Koshovy, Petro Chornyi.
Actively tours with concerts supporting the ZSU.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he has been on the defensive on the cultural front. Mykhailo together with his colleagues gave more than 150 charity concerts, the purpose of which is to raise funds for the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Together with Oleksandr Ponomaryov and other artists, they recorded several songs "Ukraine will win", "On the ground, in the air and on the sea".
2023 year
On March 7, 2023, Mykhailo Khoma and Oleksandr Ponomaryov presented the joint duet "Hey, Falcons".
Subsequently, in March, the artist presented a short, author's film "Who are you". The plot of the tape: A man challenges an infinitely long chain, which is a symbol of human suffering accumulated during life. The hero mystically enters the spiritual world, where he has a dialogue with God, and in fact with himself. It is from this moment that he understands the truth.
Privacy
The wife is a singer from Lviv, Yaroslava Prytula, known under the stage name SLAVIA. They got married in November 2013. Mykhailo met his future wife during the contest "Young Halychyna", later they sang together in the band "Friends". In April 2021, Mykhailo announced a divorce.
