Georgii Mykolaiovych Kazakov (17 January 1914, Kharkiv - 1997) was a Ukrainian domrist. Honoured Artist of Ukraine (since 16 September 1993 - for his great personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian national culture and training of musicians).
Biography.
He began studying the domra at the Kharkiv Music and Drama Institute with Leonid Haydamaka. Then, in 1939, he studied at the Kyiv Conservatory under the direction of M. Helis, where he became a teacher. Since 1946 he has been working at the Lviv Conservatory. Since 1994, he has been a professor of the domra at the Lviv Conservatory. He was repressed from 1949 to 1955.
