Kaskiv Bohdan Dmytrovych

Bohdan Dmytrovych Kaskiv (born 3 July 1941, Lviv) is a Ukrainian violinist and teacher, professor, Honoured Artist of Ukraine (2006).
Biography
1964 - graduated from the Lviv Conservatory (teacher - Professor D. Lekher).

1970 - completed an assistantship at the Moscow Conservatory (class of D. Tsyganov).

Bohdan Dmytrovych once studied with P. Makarenko (1915-1995), who was a student of B. Sibor (1880-1961), and he was a student of L. Auer (1845-1930).

Since 1964, he has been working at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv Music Academy: since 1987, he has been the head of the violin department and the first violin of the string quartet of the academy's teachers. Since 1980, he has been an associate professor, and since 1999 - a professor.

Among his students are V. Zaransky, S. Burko, A. Mykytka, I. Pylyatyuk, P. Terpeliuk, and his son O. Kaskiv.

He was the first performer of many works for violin by S. Liudkevych, M. Kolessa, M. Skoryk, E. Stankovych, V. Kikta, and I. Maciejewski.

He toured Europe and North America.
