Karnak Andriy Mykolayovych

Karnak Andrii Mykolaiovych (11.06.1968, Vasylivka, Zaporizhzhia region - 18.12.2020, Kyiv) - composer, musicologist, teacher, musician. Candidate of Arts (2000). Associate Professor (2001).

Laureate of the competitions "Young Ukraine - to Prokofiev" (Donetsk, 1993, 2nd prize), "Gradus ad Parnassum" (Kyiv, 1994, 2nd prize). He is a member of the NSCU. Graduated from the Donetsk Conservatory (1995, composition class of S. Mamonov), postgraduate studies at the NMAU (supervisor - I. Kotliarevskyi, 1998). In 1995-96 he was a teacher of computer literacy at KDAM, 1998-2002, since 2003 - director of the publishing house "Meta-Art", organized the festival of contemporary music "Meta-Art-97". From 2000 he was a lecturer at the Department of Sound Engineering of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, 2002-03 - Head of the Department of Sound Engineering of the Kyiv State Academy of Culture and Arts.

Died due to a blood clot against the background of coronavirus infection.

chamber and instrumental works:
"Autograph" quintet (1992-2002);
Trio "Satory" (1996);
"Satory II" (1997);
Requiem for 7 performers in 2 parts (1995);
Pieces for tuba and flute, for flute, for bassoon.
Vocal works:
cycle "Nocturnes from the Window" (sl. F. G. Lorca (2003).
Works with the use of electronics:
"Internominis" for 2 performers, amplified piano and magnetic tape (1995);
"Libro" (1998-2003) for virtual orchestra;
"Crazystance" (2002-03) for virtual orchestra.
PhD thesis "Traditions of experimentation in American music of the XX century" (Kyiv, 2000).
