Anatolii Pavlovych Kalenychenko (June 7, 1955, Kyiv, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian musicologist, pianist, music producer, cultural and public figure. Candidate of Arts (1989). Member of the National Union of Musicians of Ukraine (1987), the Repertory Board for Mass Genre Music of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine (1987-1988), the Board of the Music Foundation of Ukraine (2005), the Commission for the Integration of the Cultural Strategy of the National Council for Culture and Spirituality under the President of Ukraine (2007). He was awarded the Order of Merit III class (2009).
In his childhood, he took private composition lessons from L. Vysoczynska, and became a laureate of the republican competitions for the best children's song: 1963 - 2nd prize, 1969 - 3rd prize, and the composing competition "Our Friend the Signalman" (1970).
In 1973, he graduated from the Mykola Lysenko Kyiv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School (piano class of Danylo Yudelevych), attended composition classes of V. Kucherov. Graduated from the historical and theoretical faculty of the Kyiv Conservatory (1979, class of Tamara Hnativ), and completed his doctoral studies at the IIRF (2002). Since 1979 he has been working at the IIRF: 1979-1981 - senior laboratory assistant, 1982-1993 - junior researcher, 1994-1995 - researcher, since 2005 - head of the Department of Musicology.
Anatolii Kalenychenko was one of the initiators, authors of the creative concept and organizers of the Chervona Ruta Festival - in 1989-1999 he was the deputy director and artistic director of the festival.
He is also a co-founder of the Ukrainian-Canadian joint venture Kobza, head of the research and management center, academic and church music departments (1989-1991). On a UNESCO scholarship, he studied at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences (1986).
He is the author of articles on state cultural policy, the history of Ukrainian academic instruments, especially ensemble music, problems of youth mass music culture, issues of music cultural studies, aesthetics, including trends, styles, movements, aesthetic situations, musicologists, etc. that have been published in Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, and Russia. He introduced the concept of "cultural security of Ukraine" into scientific circulation and restored the procedure for defending PhD theses in Ukrainian (December 1988). He was one of the initiators of the introduction of the Department of Ukrainian Art in universities (1989).
