Кабанов

Oleksiy (Oleksa Lavrsky) Kabanov (born 1971) is a Ukrainian composer and musician (multi-instrumentalist), known primarily as a master and performer of music in its authentic form.

He is a member of the Kobzar's Workshop, a creative association that brings together performers who play traditional folk instruments. He collects and also makes rare and ancient musical instruments (cymbals, wheeled lyre, santur, tanbur). Another area of Kabanov's creative activity is the development of the musical culture of the East. He is proficient in various styles of playing such instruments as the sitar, sarod, santur, rubab, kobza, tanbur, etc. Oleksiy's creative task is not only to reconstruct original works, but also to find new connections between the cultures of the East and the West, as well as to create new trends in music.

Oleksiy Kabanov participates in the reconstruction of ancient instruments not only of the Kyiv Kobzar Workshop. Since 2005, he has been collaborating with German lyre player and folk instrument maker Kurt Reichmann, reconstructing the ancient instrument organ and its repertoire.

He is also a member of the Er.J.Orchestra.
