Ivashchenko Igor Yefremovych

Ihor Yefremovych Ivashchenko (born December 17, 1931, Hryhorivka) is a Ukrainian conductor and composer; People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR since 1974.

Biography.
Ihor Ivashchenko was born on December 17, 1931 in the village of Hryhorivka (now Obukhiv district, Kyiv region, Ukraine). Member of the CPSU since 1956. In 1957, he graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory (conducting class of Oleksandr Klymov).

He worked in Kyiv: from 1955 he was a conductor, from 1956 to 1980 he was the chief conductor of the Pavlo Virsky Dance Ensemble of the Ukrainian SSR; in 1981-1983 he was the chief conductor of the Operetta Theater.

Creative work.
Author of musical arrangements for dance compositions: "Chumatsky joys", "Oh under the cherry tree", "Needlewomen", "Podolyanochka", "Dolls", "New Year's snowstorm" and others.
