Ivanonkiv Bohdan Mykhailovych

Bohdan Mykhailovych Ivanonkiv (born 20 January 1945, Ripyntsi village, Buchach district, Ternopil region) is a Ukrainian cultural figure, conductor. People's Artist of Ukraine (2016).
He studied at the Department of Folk Instruments of the Ivano-Frankivsk Music College. He worked as a teacher of conducting at the Sniatyn Cultural and Educational School (Ivano-Frankivsk region), and at the same time as a concertmaster of conductor Yurii Dziubanovych. He graduated from the conducting and vocal faculties of the Lviv Conservatory (1972, now the Music Academy), and at the same time took vocal lessons from O. Bandrivska.

He worked as an artistic director and conductor of the Cheremosh Song and Dance Ensemble and the Lviv University Choir.

Since 1972, he has been the artistic director of the Ternopil Regional Philharmonic, and later - the artistic director and chief conductor of the Strusiv Honoured Amateur Bandura Choir "Kobzar".

1975-1992 - at the Ternopil Music College: a lecturer at the Department of Choral Conducting, Head of the Department and Choir Director.

1976-1986 - director of the folk men's choir "Cooperator".

1992-1994 - Conductor of the Ternopil Regional Philharmonic; since 1994 - at TSPU (now TNPU): Senior Lecturer of the Department of Vocal and Choral Disciplines; since 1999 - Head of the Student Choir; since 1999 - Associate Professor.

Among the students are Honoured Artists of Ukraine Yaroslav Lemishka, Borys Repka, N. Chorpita, choirmaster of the Dumka Chapel F. Feshchak, leader of the Svitozary group I. Yasnii, Oleh Lanovyi and others.

At the college, he prepared a concert repertoire, including the cantatas "Khustyna" by L. Revutskyi, "Vechornytsi" by P. Nishchynskyi, "Zapovit" by S. Liudkevych; with the Strusivska Chapel - "Carols and Christmas carols" (1988), "Historical and Insurgent Songs" (1990), "Church Music of Ukraine" (1992); with the student choir - the programme "Music of Ukrainian and Foreign Composers" and others.

He is the author of a number of arrangements of folk songs, arrangements, translations for various choirs, ensembles and orchestral accompaniments.
