Ukrainian Soviet singer (bass), People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (since 1978). Father of the singer Hryhoriy Hrytsiuk.
Biography.
Born on March 9, 1933 in the village of Tomashpili, Vinnytsia region. In 1954-1957 he was a soloist at the Lviv Opera. He also performed as a concert singer. Laureate of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow (second prize, 1957). In 1959, he graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory (class of D. Yevtushenko).
In 1957-1994 he worked at the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theater. He has been a member of the CPSU since 1963.
Since 1980, he has been a lecturer at the Drahomanov Kyiv Pedagogical Institute.
He lived in Kyiv. He died on August 11, 2004. He was buried at the Baikove cemetery.
