Husiev Ihor Ivanovych (22 October 1946 - 5 August 2014) was a pianist, improvisational composer, teacher, Honoured Worker of Culture of Ukraine (1991).
He was born in Pruzhany, Brest Oblast, Belarus. Graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory (1970; class of V. Topilin). In 1970-1994, he taught piano at the Kyiv Institute of Culture, since 1994 he has been teaching piano improvisation at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (since 1993 - associate professor). At the same time, since 1974, he has been a concertmaster of the Kyiv Philharmonic, where he performed with the reader I. Shvedov and singers. He took part in performances of pop and symphony orchestras of Ukraine and the State Television and Radio Company.
He is the author of compositions on themes of popular and Ukrainian folk songs for piano and pop-symphony orchestra. The Melodiya company released 2 discs with Gusev's recordings. He has recordings on the National Radio and Television (more than 20 of his own and about 200 works by Ukrainian and foreign authors). He appeared as a pianist in the TV film "Like a Spring Flower".
