Oleksiy Hryniuk (b. 1977) is a Ukrainian pianist from Kyiv.
He studied at the Lysenko Specialised Music School with Natalia Hrydneva and at the National Music Academy of Ukraine with Professor Valeriy Kozlov. In 1996, he won a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he recently completed his studies with Professor Hamish Milne. During his student years, Oleksiy also took masterclasses with such prominent musicians as Charles Rosen, Dominique Merle, Fu Tsong, Vladimir Krainev and Stephen Gough.
Since the age of thirteen, after his victory at the All-Union Diaghilev Competition in Moscow, Oleksiy has had many successes at international competitions, including the International Competition for Young Pianists in memory of Vladimir Horowitz in Kyiv, the Shanghai Piano Competition in China, and the New York Young Concert Artists Competition.
Oleksiy Hryniuk's concerts in Europe, the USA, Mexico, Morocco, and Japan have always been accompanied by favourable press reviews. Oleksiy has performed in such prestigious halls as Wigmore Hall and South Bank Centre in London, Salle Cortot and Salle Gaveau in Paris, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory; he has recorded for Ukrainian radio and television, Frankfurt am Main Radio (Germany), Radio Gdańsk (Poland), WGBH Radio (USA), Russian, Chinese, Moroccan television; participated in many international festivals, including the Newport Music Festival in the USA, the Kremlin Music Festival in Moscow, the Music and More Festival in Malta, the Chopin Festival in Poland, and the Cervantino Festival in Mexico.
Oleksiy is a member of the Artistic Committee of the Benjamin Britten London International Violin Competition and was a member of the jury of the qualifying round of the competition.
