Gromtsev Valery Pavlovich

1949-2020

Hromtsev Valerii Pavlovych (February 16, 1949, Chernivtsi - September 7, 2020, Haifa, Israel) - Ukrainian composer, musician, Honored Artist of Ukraine (2009).

1970 - Graduated from the Chernivtsi Music College.
1967 - Head of the VIA "Karpaty" of the Chernivtsi House of Light Industry. The first members of the group were: former director of the Central Palace of Culture Viktor Obdulenko, musician Yevhen Tarnavskyi, soloist Svitlana Yurchenko (now Kobevko), poet Mykola Buchko, to whose words Hromtsev wrote songs;
1973 - Head of the Tovtry All-Arts Ensemble of the Khmelnytsky Regional Philharmonic,
1974 - director of the All-Ukrainian Vocal Ensemble "Svityaz" of the Volyn Regional Philharmonic,
1979 - Music Director of the All-Ukrainian Vocal Ensemble "Morye" of the Crimean Regional Philharmonic,
1983 - Music Director of the Chervona Ruta All-Composite Orchestra of the Crimean Regional Philharmonic,
1984 - music director of the House of Fishermen in Sevastopol,
1986 - Music Director of the All-American Vocal Ensemble "Seagulls" of the Crimean Regional Philharmonic,
1990 - music director of the jazz orchestra "Grafskaya Prystan" of the Black Sea Fleet.
Since 1999 he has been living and working in Tel Aviv, Israel.
For the first recording of the song "Chervona Ruta" Volodymyr Ivasyuk invited the orchestra of the "Karpaty" ensemble under the direction of Valeriy Hromtsev.

It was V. Hromtsev who introduced the "March of Ukrainian Sailors" to the Ukrainian Navy, which he wrote to the words of the Bukovynian poet Leonid Kuryavenko. At the time, it was noted that the Ukrainian Navy did not yet exist, but the march already did. This march was first performed by Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Ivanov and is performed by the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ukrainian Navy to this day and is constantly performed in Kyiv at parades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
