Stepan Stepanovych Hryshchenko (* 5 June 1936, Hnidyntsi village, Varvynka district, Chernihiv region) is a Ukrainian singer (tenor). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1978).
Biography.
Stepan Hryshchenko was born on 5 June 1936 in the village of Hnidyntsi, Varvynka district, Chernihiv region.
In 1960-1972, he was a soloist-vocalist of the Bandura Choir of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1963, he became a member of the CPSU. In 1966, he graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory (class of O. Stepanova).
Since 1975, he has been a soloist of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Kyiv Military District (since 1993 - the Armed Forces of Ukraine). In 1978, Hryshchenko was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.
The singer's repertoire includes arias from operas and romances by Ukrainian, Russian and Western European composers, folk songs, and works by Soviet composers.
