Biography and family
The composer's father, Charles Alekseevich, was a Russian craftsman from the Leningrad region who moved to Abkhazia in the 1950s, where he became interested in architecture. In Abkhazia, he found a new homeland and took part in its fate, repeatedly restoring embankments, parks, and sanatoriums.

The Honobolin family took an active part in the artistic life of Sukhumi. Varvara Dmitrievna Bubnova, a Russian artist, teacher, and art critic, was a frequent visitor. Perhaps that is why Olga, Oleksandr Honobolin's younger sister, became an artist. And Oleksandr's future was determined by his parents, who recognized his musical abilities.

Oleksandr Honobolin has two sons: the eldest is an economist at a bank, and the younger Danylo is also a musician.
