Dariia Hlibovytska (14 November 1863, Krohulets, Husiatyn district, Galicia - 31 July 1934, Boryslav) was a Western Ukrainian pianist, singer, folklorist, social and political activist of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Biography
She maintained creative contacts with I. Franko, V. Hnatiuk, A. Tchaikovsky, and B. Lepkyi. B. Lepkyi wrote in his memoirs "The Fairy Tale of My Life": "Daria... had an absolute ear and an extraordinary musical memory."
As a folklorist, she collected legends and folk tales, which, in particular, were published by Ivan Franko in Life and Word (1895).
In 1903-1910, she taught piano at the Ukrainian Institute for Girls in Przemysl.
