Dariia Mykolaivna Herasymovych (1908-1991) was a Ukrainian pianist, teacher, associate professor at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv State Conservatory (now the Lviv National Music Academy). She was a student of V. Barvinskyi and V. Kurtz.
Biography.
In 1920-1928, she received her musical education at the Mykola Lysenko Music School in the class of V. Barvinsky. In 1929, she completed an internship at the School of Performing Arts of Professor V. Kurtz at the Prague Conservatory. In 1930, she began her teaching career as a lecturer at the Mykola Lysenko Music School and the Paderewski Higher Music School. At the same time, she improved her qualifications at the concert course in the class of Prof. E. Stoerman and at the S. Moniuszko Higher Music School.
Since 1948, she has been a senior lecturer at the Piano Department, where she taught a course in methodology and supervised the pedagogical practice of pianists. Since 1953, she has taught a course in the history of piano. In 1957-1958, she was the head of the general piano department. She was promoted to associate professor (1965). She initiated the creation of the Children's Studio at the Conservatory, and since 1955 she has been its director. Author of the textbook "Methods of teaching piano" (K., 1962).
