Harry Lazarevich Helfgat (26 July 1932, Kharkiv - 25 November 2013, Tel Aviv) was a Soviet and Ukrainian pianist and teacher.
Biographical information
In 1950, he graduated from the Kharkiv Conservatory Music School for ten years.
In 1954 he graduated from the Kharkiv Conservatory (class of Professor M. S. Khazanovsky).
He trained at the Moscow Gnesin Music and Pedagogical Institute with Professor A. L. Yoheles.
In 1954-1956 he was a soloist of the Chernivtsi Philharmonic.
He gave concerts in the cities of the USSR, the Czech Republic, and the USA (Seattle).
In 1956-1995, he taught at the Kharkiv Conservatory - Kotliarevsky Institute of Arts (classes of special piano, improvisation).
In 1973-2003, he taught at the Kharkiv Secondary Specialised Music Boarding School.
Among his students were N. Zolotykh, E. Morozov, O. Romanovskyi, V. Altukhov.
Since 2003 he has lived in Israel.

Laureate of the 1st Mykola Lysenko Republican Piano Competition (1962, Kyiv).
