Gavyuk Mykola Yuriyovych

1986

Ukrainian violinist, chamber musician, concertmaster of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic named after Myroslav Skoryk, laureate of international competitions.

Biography

He was born in the city of Lviv in the family of an outstanding sculptor and painter Yurii Havyuk. He began his career at Lviv State Children's Music School No. 1 named after Anatoliy Kos-Anatolskyi. He continued his musical education at the Lviv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School named after Solomia Krushelnytska, first in the class of Olga Korynets, and later in the class of Oksana Tsap. During his studies, he participated in numerous national and international competitions, including the International Violin Competition "Remember Enescu" in Sinai (Romania, 2000), the International Children's and Youth Art Competition "Silver Bell" in Uzhhorod (Ukraine, 2001). Important achievements were the 3rd prize at the International Competition of Performers on Stringed Instruments "The quest for talents/Talens for Europe" in Dolný Kubin (Slovakia, 2002), which is a member of the European Union of Youth Music Competitions (EMCY) and the 2nd Prize at the International competition of performers on stringed bowed instruments named after M. Yelsky in Minsk (Belarus, 2003).

In 2004, he entered the Lviv National Academy of Music named after Mykola Lysenko in the class of Professor Volodymyr Zaranskyi, where in 2009 he obtained a master's degree in musical art. Studies in the chamber ensemble class of professor Tetyana Shupiana had a considerable influence on the formation of a violinist as an ensemble player. He improved his playing at master classes with such well-known violinists as Yvri Gitlis (France), Mark Lakirovich (USA), Melissa Mellinger (Germany), and was also a participant of the Summer Music Academy in Kyiv (Ukraine, 2005) and the VIIII Summer Music Academy in Krakow (Poland, 2006). In 2006, he became a diploma winner of the 10th International Competition of Young Violinists Karol Lipinski and Henryk Wieniawski (Lublin, Poland). In 2010, he won the 2nd prize at the Regional open competition-festival of violinists "In the blessing of violinist's hands" (Ternopil, Ukraine).

Since 2008, she has been the first violinist of the "Phoenix" String Quartet, which is an integral part of the musical life of Lviv and Ukraine. In 2021, the quartet became a resident of the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic.

From 2013 to 2015, he held the position of soloist-concertmaster of the INSO-Lviv Academic Symphony Orchestra.

In 2015, the violinist became a scholarship recipient of the Gaude Polonia program of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland and studied at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Professor Janusz Wawrowski.

From 2016 to 2020, he taught at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy (violin department, chamber ensemble and quartet department).

Since 2019, Mykola Havyuk has been the concertmaster of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic named after Myroslav Skoryk.

In 2021, the violinist was awarded a scholarship of the President of Ukraine for young artists in the field of musical art.

During his creative career, he repeatedly collaborated with the orchestras of the Transcarpathian, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi Philharmonic Orchestras, the Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, the orchestras "Sinfonia Varsovia", K&K Philarmoniker, "Virtuosos of Lviv", "Leopolis", and outstanding musicians of our time: Gauthier Capuson , Frank Brale, Misha Katz, Melanie Mestre, Janusz Wavrowski, Anna Maria Staskevich, Katarzyna Budnik, Jacob Shaw, Rafael Serrale.
