Gavryk Taras

1987

Taras Gavryk (formerly Guff Rick) is a Ukrainian blogger, musician, and former TV and radio presenter.
Biography.
Taras Havryk was born on 10 March 1987 in Lviv. He studied at secondary school No. 70. After completing his secondary education, he entered the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Faculty of International Relations. From 2012 to 2018, he hosted the morning show on Lviv TV channel - "Good Morning, Lviv!". From 2013 to the present, he has been a presenter of Lviv Khvylya Radio and a music performer. He has released 4 albums.

Career.
Taras's musical career began in childhood. Initially, it was the children's band "Dyvotsvit", with which Taras performed in Ukraine and abroad (Poland, Denmark). In Divotsvit, Taras met and performed with Vladyslav Levytskyi. As a member of the same group, Taras won the second prize at the Black Sea Games festival. The band ceases to exist when its leader Maria Pomidcha leaves for abroad. While studying at the university, Taras Havryk together with Vladyslav Levytskyi created the rock band Kontakt. It was in this band that the boys began to realise themselves as songwriters. Taras plays guitar in Kontakt. After a year, Havryk leaves the band. Since 2007, he has been recording songs and performing under the pseudonym Guff Rick. His debut album, Routes (EP), was recorded in Ternopil in 2009. Presented in Lviv in the "3Style Hip-Hop Shop"

In 2010, Taras, already under the pseudonym "Gavryk", presents his second album - "We need to release"

In 2011, the first video "Nikitin" (by SIS) from the album "We have to release" was filmed. To promote the video, the young singer dared to come to the office of the Ukrainian music market leader Mamamusic under the slogan "Nikitin give me money" and demand money from one of the country's main music producers, Yuriy Nikitin. In 2012, he performed for the first time at the Z-Games festival in the set of Lviv rap artist Franyk In 2012, he became a finalist at the Summer Sound International Music Fest, founded by Green Grey's leader Diesel. In connection with reaching the final, Taras and his live band took part in a filming on M1 TV channel.

After the story of Nikitin Dai Bablo became publicised in the media, Taras Samulyak was invited to MTV Ukraine.

In early 2011, Taras began performing his songs acoustically (under the pseudonym Gavryk).

Since 2012, Taras Gavryk has been the host of the programme "Good Morning, Lviv!" on the Lviv TV channel, as well as the programmes "Two for 60" and "There is an Opportunity!" on the Lviv Khvylya radio station. According to Havryk, he got into radio by accident: "Taras met Andriy Velykyi (the host of Lvivska Khvylya radio) in a supermarket and he offered him a job. This year, Taras is also releasing his third studio album, For Those Who Don't Know (EP).

In 2013, Gavryk took an active part in the Lviv Euromaidan.

In 2015, Gavryk presented a video for the song "Lviv. I love TV" featuring more than 50 Lviv residents. It was directed by artist Les Panchyshyn. The video was premiered at Prokidaniye during the Lviv Weathercocks festival on 3 May. After that, the clip was included in the rotation of some Ukrainian TV channels, and received 130,000 views on Youtube[2].

On 6 December 2015, Taras Havryk gave his first solo concert at the Picasso club in Lviv. The concert took place with a live band featuring Roman Vovk, Volodymyr Olenskyi, Vitalik Kukharskyi and Vitaliy Fedyukov.

In April 2017, Taras launched the project "Inspire!", which aims to hold motivational meetings with schoolchildren and students.

In 2018, after more than 5 years of work at Lviv TV channel, Taras left television.

2018 - presentation of the new album "#MoyaO", which became his fourth studio album. In the summer of 2018, Taras Havryk announces the launch of a new project "GVRK" and work on new material with the working title "ALBM with MTKM".

On 8 March 2019, Gavryk gives his third solo concert at the Picasso nightclub, titled "First Spring", where he presents his new single "You Don't Write Me Letters".
