Ukrainian composer, songwriter, People's Artist of Ukraine, honorary citizen of Storozhynets, honorary citizen of Bucha, TV presenter on the national TV channel Pershyi, performer of his own songs, founder and organizer of international and national music festivals and competitions such as Dolya, Premiere of Song, Nightingale of Ukraine, Autumn Rendezvous, My Native Mother, and others.
He was born on September 15, 1955 in the town of Storozhynets near Chernivtsi. He spent his childhood and youth in Storozhynets, where he studied at a music school, and in Chernivtsi (where he moved from Storozhynets after graduating from the 8th grade of secondary school No. 1), where his house now stands, 100 meters from Nazariy Yaremchuk's house and 100 meters from Volodymyr Ivasyuk's house.
According to M. Hadenko himself, after completing his military service in the Baltic Fleet of the USSR Navy, in 1977 he began his service in law enforcement agencies in Chernivtsi as an inspector for minors. He was appointed to this position on the recommendation of his wife Olha, who was initially offered a job in the police children's room as a young, talented history teacher. A few years later, at the age of twenty-five, Marian Hadenko became the youngest head of the department for combating the theft of socialist property in the city of Chernivtsi.
While serving in the police, he graduated from Chernivtsi State University in 1982 with a degree in economics. For ten years (1988-1998), he served in Lviv as the head of the department for combating organized crime at the Lviv Railway. In total, he served in the police for 27 years. He retired as the Deputy Commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with the rank of colonel.
After the death of TV presenter Tamara Shcherbatiuk, who was the author and host of the program "Nadvechirya", the program "Nadvechirya. Fates" program, hosted by Marian Hadenko, began airing. In recent years, he worked, created and lived in Kyiv.
He died on the morning of December 3, 2021, of a heart attack.
He was buried on December 5, 2021 in Storozhynets next to the grave of his son Volodymyr.
Creative work
Marian Hadenko is a true popularizer of Ukrainian song and a pioneer of many young performers as the founder of the International Song Festival "Destiny", the All-Ukrainian Festival of Contemporary Ukrainian Romance "Autumn Rendezvous", the International Song Project "Premiere of the Song", the International Children's Festivals "Pisne Dzherelo" and "Chornobaivski Zorepady", and the All-Ukrainian Song Contest about Mother "My Native Mother".
He has released more than ten audio albums and CDs: "Zorepad", "Zorepad-1", "Zorepad-2", "Zorepad-3", "Pisennoe Dzherelo", "Dolyba", "My Song is My Destiny", "Everything is over...", "Song Spark of Love", "From the Father's Well". The latter is dedicated to the memory of his son Volodymyr, who tragically died on May 13, 2007.
