Franz Yosyp Stepanovych

1956

Yosyp Frantz (* 1956) is a Ukrainian conductor, Honoured Artist of Ukraine (2003), Professor of the Department of Orchestral Conducting and Instrumentation Studies at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, and director of the accordion orchestra.

Biography
Born in 1956 in the village of Yasinia. In 1981, he graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Culture, in 1988 - postgraduate studies, in 1997 - the National Music Academy of Opera and Symphony Conducting, class of Vadym Hnedash.

Since 1981, he has been working at the Kyiv University of Culture as a lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor, in 1991 - Dean of the Faculty of Music, Head of the Department of Orchestral Conducting, since 1997 - Acting Professor.

Since 1999 - President of the All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation "Ukrainian Philharmonic Society".

2001 - author and artistic director of the creative project "Musical Evenings in the National Conservation Area "St Sophia of Kyiv" (Museum of St Andrew's Church).

Since 2003 - Director, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Renaissance Symphony Chapel.
