Fitsych Stepan Mykolayovych

Stepan Mykolaiovych Fitsych (born 1 June 1951 - 8 June 2014) was a Ukrainian opera singer (tenor); soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine. People's Artist of Ukraine (19.10.1993).

Biography.
He was born in the village of Nyzhniy Bereziv, Stanislaviv region.

He studied at the Lviv Music College and Conservatory, where he worked with Pavlo Karmalyuk.

During his student years, he began working at the Lviv Opera House, and after winning the republican competition "Young Voices" he was invited to the Kyiv Opera House, where he made his debut in 1978 as Andrii in the opera "Zaporozhets Beyond the Danube". In 1984 he won 3rd place at the VIII International Competition for Young Opera Singers in Sofia.

He toured the USA, Canada, England, Poland and other countries.

He died on 8 June 2014. He was buried in Kyiv at the Baikove Cemetery (plot No. 52a).

Daughter - Natalka Fitsych, TV journalist.

Son-in-law - Volodymyr Ariev, physicist, journalist, politician.

Granddaughter - Yaryna, a student at a Kyiv university.
