Viktor Kostiantynovych Diachenko (* August 23, 1935, Alchevsk) is a Ukrainian accordionist, teacher, composer and public figure, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
During 1950-1954 he studied at the Luhansk Music College, in the class of Vasyl Ivanovych Voevodin.
During 1954-1959, he continued his studies at the Kyiv Conservatory with Professor Helis M. M., and in the ensemble with M. I. Rizol. In his third year of study, in 1957, as part of an octet of accordionists, he became a laureate of the Republican Competition.
In 1959, while studying in the fifth year, in a competition with his classmate Anatolii Kriukov, he won first place at the All-Union qualifying competition in Kyiv. In Moscow, during the All-Union qualifying competition for the Seventh World Festival of Youth and Students, they took second place.
After graduating from the Conservatory, from 1959 to 1962 he worked as a teacher at the Lutsk Music School.
Since 1962, he has been working as a teacher at the Zaporizhzhia Music College, where his partner in the accordion duo Kriukov has already taught.
From 1971 to 1987 he was the head of the Zaporizhzhia City Association of Composers, from 1987 to 2003 - the head of the Regional Association of Composers.
Awards and honors
For his activity, he was listed in the Book of Honor of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Department of Culture, awarded with diplomas and certificates of the All-Union, republican, regional and city levels. In particular, he received four Certificates of Honor from the Minister of Culture of Ukraine, the government's Jubilee Certificate of Honor from the Shevchenko Committee, the Certificate of Honor from the Music Society of the Ukrainian SSR, a diploma from the Union of Composers of the USSR, a diploma from the All-Union Soviet Committee of War Veterans, and others.
In 1992, Viktor Dyachenko was awarded the honorary title of Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
