Dutchak Mikhail Mikhailovich

1953-2021

Mykhailo Mykhailovych Dutchak (born 22 November 1953, Brody - 18 May 2021, Lviv) was a Ukrainian conductor, Honoured Artist of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine.
He studied at the Lviv Music and Pedagogical College named after Filaret Kolessa.

1978 - Graduated from the Lviv Conservatory (class of Larysa Bober).

Since 1976, he has been a conductor, and since April 2001, he has been the Chief Conductor of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theatre named after S. Krushelnytska.

In 1983-1985, he completed an internship with Stepan Turchak at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theatre.

At the Kyiv Theatre, he conducted operas such as Rigoletto, La Traviata by G. Verdi, The Tsar's Bride by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, and The Secret Marriage by D. Cimarosa.

1997-1998 - Director of the Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv Music Academy.

He held master classes for young opera conductors from Europe and Asia in Burgas (Bulgaria, 2009).

He toured Poland, Switzerland, Qatar, France, and cities of Ukraine.

He was buried on the 50th field of Lychakiv Cemetery.
