Ukrainian bandura player, poet, bard, rock musician.
Biography.
Kobzar, bandura player and lyre player. A doctor by profession. Graduated from the Dnipro Medical Institute (1988) and music school, majoring in violin. Since 1988, he has been a member of the "Don't be sad!" theater. In 1989-93 he lived in Cherkasy, since 1994 - in Kyiv. He is a bard, winner of all-Ukrainian festivals. At the 1989 Chervona Ruta Festival, he won the first prize among singers with his songs "From Captivity, from Under Izmail," "The Sky of Ukraine," "About Khokhl Prydurchenko," and "Monomakh's Hat." Performer and reconstructor of traditional kobza and lyre repertoire accompanied by the Veresaiev kobza, old world bandura, and wheeled lyre. He began to study at the performing school in 1988, studying the research of Mykola Lysenko and other musicologists.
A significant part of the repertoire is made up of original psalms and folk songs - "Zaporizhzhia songs", Cossack psalms, knightly songs, slave laments, prayer songs, pious psalms and cantos, spiritual and secular lyrics. Joined the Kyiv Kobza Workshop (1988). Main creative direction: author's song (author of words and music). Among the styles: modern ballad and romance, traditional kobzarism, rock. In 2007-08, he performed as a guitarist and vocalist in the band "Ruthenia" ("Neopalyma Kupyna").
