Pianist and teacher, associate professor of special piano at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy, PhD in Art History.
He studied at the Lviv Music Academy and postgraduate studies in the classes of E. Chupryk and R. Kryshtalsky. He is a laureate of the Mykola Lysenko and I. Paderewski International Competitions. As a soloist and ensemble player, he has participated in many international festivals in Ukraine and abroad. He has performed on the stages of Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Norway, and Russia. He has collaborated with conductors: V. Ploskina, I. Yuziuk, R. Filipchuk, G. Mathes, Y. Kolesa, I. Pylyatyuk, and others. He has performed with the National Orchestra of Ukraine, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv Philharmonic, the Academic Youth Symphony Orchestra INSO-Lviv, the Academy and Perpetuum Mobile chamber orchestras.
More than ten years of concert activity are associated with creative collaboration with the Honoured Artist of Ukraine, outstanding violinist Nazariy Pylyatyuk. The duo's repertoire includes more than twenty programmes of world and Ukrainian music.
Thanks to his extensive concert experience combined with a fine sense of partner musicianship, Petro Dovhan can be considered one of the best ensemble players in the country.
