Dobrovolsky Sergiy Pavlovich

Serhii Pavlovych Dobrovolskyi (b. November 8, 1910, Rybnytsia - d. September 2, 1942, Ufa) was a Ukrainian Soviet composer; member of the Union of Composers of Ukraine.
He was born on November 8, 1910 in Rybnytsia (now Moldova). He studied at the Kyiv Secondary Specialized Music School, the Music Professional School (class of Kostiantyn Mykhailov); from 1928 - at the Kyiv Music and Drama Institute (classes of Borys Liatoshynskyi, Ihor Belza); from 1930 - at the Leningrad Conservatory (class of Maximilian Steinberg).

In the 1930s, he worked at music schools in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv; from 1934 to 1938, he worked at the Kyiv Film Factory; from 1938, he worked at the Mystetstvo Publishing House. He died in Ufa on September 2, 1942.

His works include
vaudeville "Anything can happen to anyone" (1942);
works for piano - "Two Poems", "Three Preludes", "Two Preludes", "Toccata" (all - 1929);
chorus "Song about Kyiv" (1938);
music for films and radio plays.
