Davydenko Vladimir Alexandrovich

1934-1994

Davydenko Volodymyr Oleksandrovych - geologist, composer, artist, Honored Worker of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR (1973).
Davydenko Volodymyr Olexandrovych - (*23.05.1934, Obychiv village, Pryluky district, Chernihiv region - 21.11.1994, Sokyryany, Chernivtsi region).

He graduated from Chernivtsi University with a degree in geological engineering. During his studies, with the support of Stepan Sabadash, he became a soloist in the university choir. In Sokyryany, he worked as a director of a stone quarry and a driving school of the DOSAAF. He died on November 21, 1994, and was buried in Sokyryany. In 1998, Petrovsky Street was renamed to Volodymyr Davydenko Street.

Creative activity
He led a small symphony orchestra in the district House of Culture, organized vocal and instrumental ensembles "Melody" and "Rovesnyk". He is a songwriter: "Aelita", "And the Years Go By", "Youth", "White Nights", "My Love Is Unfaithful"... to the lyrics of Ukrainian, Russian, and local poets and songs: "Spring", "About You", "Scarlet Sail" to his own lyrics. He composed music for the plays Nazar Stodolia, Marina, and Beyond the Blue Danube by the Sokyryany Folk Theater, directed by Serhiy Smolnytskyi. In 1996, a collection of his musical works "Autumn Swans" was published. His landscapes and genre paintings were repeatedly exhibited at exhibitions of works by amateur artists in Chernivtsi.
