Mykhailo Ivanovych Chemberzhi (July 15, 1944, Izmail, Ukrainian SSR - March 5, 2018, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian composer, teacher, scientist, public figure, rector of the Kyiv Children's Academy of Arts. Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine (1993), People's Artist of Ukraine (1997), Professor (1995), Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2001), Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (1997), Member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine, National Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine, Member of the National Commission for UNESCO (2009).
He was born on July 15, 1944 in Izmail, Odesa region. In 1967, he graduated from the Odesa State Music College and began teaching at the children's music schools of Izmail and Izmail. Izmail and the Izmail State Pedagogical Institute.
In 1975-1982, he was a lecturer at the Institute for Advanced Training of Cultural Workers of the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR, deputy director of the Kyiv Children's Music School No. 28, director of the Children's Music School No. 32.
1982-1989 - Director of the L. Revutskyi Kyiv Children's Music School No. 5. In 1988 he graduated from the Donetsk State Conservatory.
In 1989-1994, he was the first deputy head of the Main Department of Culture of Kyiv, chairman of the Kyiv Arts Committee.
Since 1994, he has been the founder and first rector of the Kyiv Children's Academy of Arts.
In 1997-2001 - Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
Death and burial
He died suddenly on the night of March 5, 2018[1].
The funeral ceremony took place on March 7 at the Kyiv Children's Academy of Arts. He was buried at the Baikove cemetery."[2],[3]

His works include: two symphonies (1980, 1987), operas "Bluebird" (1984), "Christmas Lullaby" (2001), symphonic suite "Anticipation of Spring", orchestral miniatures "Kyiv in May" (2001), ballets "Princess on a Pea" (1992), "Snowdrop (1996), Concerto for accordion and symphony orchestra (1980), Bonus sermo for piano and string orchestra (2000), choral concertos (1991, 1992), Suite for chamber orchestra (1999), Canzona for chamber orchestra (2000).
Music for performances (Madame Bovary, The Little Princess, The Phantom Lady, Radiation of Parenthood, New Year's Adventures, Christmas Patterns, Imaginary Sick, "Faded Leaves) and films (Bohdan-Zynoviy Khmelnytsky (2006), Nostalgia, etc.), a collection of solfege songs (My Alphabet) (2002), and cycles of plays Musical Pictures, Rainbow Dreams, Morning Rays).
Author of the books Approaching the High Truths and Morning Reflections on the Eternal.
