Burko Sergey Ivanovich

Serhiy Ivanovych Burko (born 14 April 1955, Zolochiv, Lviv region) is a Ukrainian violinist and conductor, People's Artist of Ukraine (2009).
He graduated from the Lviv Conservatory (in 1979 - violin class of Bohdan Kaskiv; in 1996 - conducting class of Ivan Yuziuk).

In 1979, he created a student chamber orchestra at Lviv University, which toured Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, and the United States.

Since 1989, he has been the artistic director of the Lviv Philharmonic, the director of the annual Virtuosos Music Festival.

Since 1994, he has been the founder, artistic director and chief conductor of the Lviv Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra at the Lviv National Philharmonic, which has toured Italy, Israel, the Vatican, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and Switzerland.

He initiated art projects in the USA, Lithuania, Russia, Turkey and other countries.

2000-2002 - author of the all-Ukrainian musical project for gifted youth "Talents of the 3rd Millennium".
