Karl Vasylovych Büchner (1835, Leipzig - 5 October (17 October) 1881, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian pianist, composer and music teacher.
He studied at the Leipzig Conservatory, in particular with Felix Mendelssohn. After graduating from the conservatory in 1852, he entered the service of Count P. P. Lopukhin, and together with his orchestra he gave concerts in the cities of Ukraine. From 1871 to 1881 he was concertmaster of the Kyiv Opera. He was also a performing member of the Kyiv branch of the Russian Music Society (RMS). He performed in ensembles with Mykola Lysenko, Ludwig Albrecht, Anton Bartsal, and Otakar Shevchyk.
He is the author of the Piano Quintet (1872), Concert Paraphrase on a Russian Melody (1872), and romances. Some of his works were published, in particular, in Kyiv and Leipzig.
In 1871-1876, he taught piano at the Kyiv Music School of the Russian Music Theatre.
