Borisov Vadim Valerievich

1965

Vadym Valeriyovych Borysov (born 21 May 1965, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian violinist and teacher. People's Artist of Ukraine (2015).
Graduated from the Kyiv Children's Music School No. 24.

1984 - graduated from the Reinhold Glier Kyiv Music College (class of Oleksandr Sachuk).

1991 - graduated from the Tchaikovsky Kyiv Conservatory (class of Oleksandr Panov; in the quartet class he studied with Leontiy Krasnoshchek).

1990-1992 - worked in the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.

In 1989, the string quartet (Vadym Borysov, Serhiy Vovkotrub, Inna Butriy, Hanna Nuzha) under the direction of Leontiy Krasnoshchok won the third prize at the All-Union Competition of Student String Quartets in Moscow.

Since 1992 he has been a concertmaster of the Kyiv Chamber Orchestra of the National Philharmonic.

1991-1993 - lecturer of the quartet class, since 2005 - associate professor of the Department of Stringed Instruments at the Kyiv Conservatory. Among his students are winners of international competitions in Switzerland and Italy: Kyrylo Sharapov, Taras Yaropud, Andrii Chop, Yurii Pohoretskyi; laureates of the International Competition named after D. Bortnyanskyi: Alisa Rubanova, Iryna Tsukanova, Marta Deichakivska, Artem Poludennyi.

In 2001, he became a concertmaster of the orchestra of the Taras Shevchenko National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine, assistant to Serhiy Shott.

Later, he was a soloist and concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and assistant conductor of the Kyiv Chamber Orchestra.

He has performed in Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, South Korea, the USA, Turkey, Switzerland, etc. In the USA, he became one of the winners of the international YouTube Symphony Orchestra project.
