Bohdanov Fedir Fedorovych (09.01.1904, Kharkiv - 14.06.1981, the same place) - composer, conductor. Member of the UWC (1932). He studied at the Kharkiv Musical College, Dept. RMT (1919-21; teacher F. Yakymenko), at the Kharkiv Music and Drama Institute (1928-30). In 1922-25 - chief editor of musical radio broadcasting in Kharkiv; 1925-28 - artistic director of amateur performances in Stalino (now Donetsk); 1930-32 - head of the musical department and conductor of the Theatre of Working Youth, 1935-41 - head of the musical department and conductor of the State Ukrainian Drama Theatre. Drama Theatre (both - Kharkiv); 1941-45 - military conductor; 1945-47 - head of the choral chapel at the Kharkiv House of Teachers; 1947-61 - teacher of music schools, pedagogical school, head of amateur performances at the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute; since 1961 - in creative work.

for symphony orchestra: "Solemn March" (1945), "Festive Overture" (1950); suite-poem "1905" (1955), "Ukrainian Suite" (dedicated to M. Leontovych, 1956), poem "Ukraine was Noisy" based on the same work by P. Panch (dedicated to T. Shevchenko, 1959; 2nd ed. - 1972), "Concert Waltz" (1963), fantasies on two Ukrainian folk themes for piano and symphony orchestra (1964), symphonic poem for soloists of choir and symphony orchestra "21 January 1924", dance suite "Veselyi Balagan" (both 1979); for string orchestra: "Prelude and Allegro" (1971); romances, arrangements of Ukrainian folk songs, music for dramatic performances ("Macbeth" by W. Shakespeare, "Pravda" by O. Korniychuk, "Candlelight Wedding" by I. Kocherha, etc.)
