Bobinsky Henryk

1861-1914

Henryk Antonowicz Bobiński (b. 1 February 1861, Warsaw - d. 24 April 1914, Warsaw) was a Polish pianist, composer and music teacher.

Biography.
He was born on 1 February 1861 in Warsaw (now Poland). He studied at the Warsaw Institute of Music (piano class of Rudolf Strobl, composition class of Zygmunt Noskowski). In 1887 he graduated from the Music and Drama School of the Moscow Philharmonic Society (class of Pyotr Shostakovsky). He studied with Theodor Leshetitsky in Vienna.

In 1880-1885 he performed in concerts and taught in Krakow. From 1893 he performed in Odesa, and from 1893 to 1913 he taught at the Music School of the Russian Musical Society in Kyiv. He was a performing member of the Kyiv branch of the Russian Musical Society, a participant in quartet meetings. In 1913-1914, he was a professor at the Kyiv Conservatory. At that time he lived in a house at 29 Ovrutska Street.

In 1914, he returned to Warsaw, where he died on 24 April 1914. He was buried in Warsaw at the Powonzki Cemetery.
