Bazylevych Fedir

1897-1931

Fedir Bazylevych (27 December 1897, Kyiv - 30 June 1931, Lviv) was a Ukrainian actor, singer (tenor), director, and theatre worker. He was the director of the Uzhhorod People's Theatre (1927-1929).
Biography.
As a member of the Ukrainian Republican Chapel conducted by Oleksandr Koshytsia, he toured many European countries.

In 1920, he was imprisoned in a camp for captured soldiers of the UPR Army in Josefov (Czech Republic), where he participated in the camp theatre and studied at the Prague Conservatory.

In 1922, he arrived in Uzhhorod, where he worked at the Russian Theatre of the Prosvita Society as a singer, actor, director, administrator, and director (1927-1929). In difficult times for the theatre, Fedir Bazylevych tried to save it by all possible means.

He translated dramatic works from Czech, Polish and French for the theatre.

Due to the pressure of the Czech police, he was forced to move to Stanislav in Galicia.

1930-1931 - on the amateur stage in Lviv.

He died on 30 June 1931 in Lviv. According to other sources, he died in Stanislav.
