Baryshevskyi Antonii

1988

He was born on 10 October 1988 in Kyiv. At the age of seven, he began studying piano at music school No. 14 (with Alina Sorkina and Rita Donska) and then No. 5 in Kyiv. After the 7th grade, he entered the Mykola Lysenko Kyiv Secondary Specialised Music Boarding School. In 2007, he entered the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, where he studied in the class of Honoured Artist of Ukraine, Professor Valeriy Kozlov[3]. In 2015, he completed an internship at the NMAU assistantship and studied with Marian Rybytskyi at the École Normale Alfred-Cortot in Paris. He took master classes with Alfred Brendel, Daniel Polak, and Lili Dorfman.

At the age of 16, Antony became a laureate of the All-Ukrainian programme "Person of the Year", and a year later he took part in a youth concert of European Radio in Munich.

Since 2012, he has been a soloist with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.

He took part in the Klavier-Festival Ruhr (2012, 2014, Germany), Projetto Martha Argerich (Lugano, Switzerland, 2014), Busoni festival (Bolzano, Italy, 2012), MusicaInsieme Fondazione (Bologna, 2017; Varignana, 2018), MDR Musicsommer Festival (Eisenach, Germany, 2015) and others.

In 2020, he was awarded the Levko Revutsky Prize for concert programmes of academic music in 2017-2019.

Antony Baryshevsky recorded a solo programme on the renowned Naxos label (2010); a disc of works by Mussorgsky and Scriabin, released in September 2015 on the Avi-music label, and a disc of the complete sonatas by Halyna Ustvolska, released in 2017. In 2018, two studio recordings with Antony were released - with works by Dmitri Shostakovich and music by Lili Boulanger. In 2021, he released a digital recording on the Lviv-based Golka label with works by Ukrainian composers Sviatoslav Lunev and Oleksiy Retynskyi.

The pianist actively performs music by Ukrainian composers, including: Borys Liatoshynskyi, Vitalii Hodziatskyi, Valentyn Silvestrov, Volodymyr Zahortsev, Sviatoslav Lunev, Oleksii Retynskyi and Maksym Shalyhin.

2020 - 2nd prize at the Santa Cecilia International Competition (Porto, Portugal)
2020 - 1st prize at the Alexander Scriabin International Piano Competition (Grosseto, Italy)
2014 - 1st prize, gold medal and special prize for the best performance of a piece by an Israeli composer at the XIV International Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition in Tel Aviv (Israel)
2014 - 1st prize at the VII International Piano Competition "Interlaken-Classics" in Bern (Switzerland)
2013 - 1st prize at the International Piano Competition in Paris (France);
2013 - 2nd prize at the International Piano Competition "European Piano Evenings" (Luxembourg)
2013 - Grand Prix at the 13th International Music Competition in Morocco (Casablanca, Morocco)
2012 - 2nd prize and the Public Prize at the Grand Prix Animat competition (Paris, France)
2011 - 2nd prize, Audience Prize and 2 more special prizes at the 58th Busoni International Piano Competition (Bolzano, Italy)[13].
2011 - 3rd prize at the 1st International Piano Competition in Paterna (Spain)
2010 - Bruno-Frye Music Prize 2010 for outstanding musical achievement (Germany);
2009 - 1st Prize, Audience Prize and Special Prize at the 51st International Piano Competition in Jaén (Spain)
2008 - First Prize, Audience Prize and 3 special prizes at the Isidor Baic Piano Competition in Novi Sad (Serbia)
2006 - winner of the 2nd International Piano Competition at the International Summer Academy of Music in Germany;
2005 - 2nd prize and a special prize of the European Federation of Music Competitions at the International Competition for Young Pianists in memory of V. Horowitz in Kyiv
2004 - 1st prize at the International Piano Competition "Performer-Composer" (St. Petersburg).
