Yevheniia Maksymivna Barvinska (née Liubovych; 20 December 1854, Lviv - 20 December 1913, the same place) was a Ukrainian pianist, choral conductor, and public figure.
Biography.
Yevheniia Liubovych was born on 20 December 1854 in Lviv (Kingdom of Galicia and Volhynia, Austria-Hungary, now Lviv Oblast, Ukraine) to Maksymylian Liubovych and Olena Studynskyi, a cousin of Kyrylo Studynskyi.
She graduated from the Teacher's Institute in Lviv (1874). She studied piano privately, at the music school of Karol Mikuli. Together with Solomiya Krushelnytska's father, Fr. She organised and directed men's and women's choirs in Ternopil (1882-1886). 1891-1895 - conductor of the Lviv choir of the Boyan Society. She promoted the work of Ukrainian composers. She was the first to notice the talent of Solomiya Krushelnytska.
She was married to Oleksandr Barvinsky. Children: Bohdan, Vasyl.
Died on 20 December 1913 in Lviv (Kingdom of Galicia and Volhynia, Austria-Hungary). She was buried in Lviv in a tomb at the Lychakiv Cemetery, field 3.
