Anufrienko Anatoly Vasilyevich

1940-1998

Anatoliy Anufrienko (18 March 1940, Voroshylovhrad - 11 October 1998) was a Ukrainian conductor. Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1985). People's Artist of Ukraine (1995).

Biography.
He was born on 18 March 1949 in Voroshylovhrad (now Luhansk). In 1962, he graduated from the Orchestra Faculty of the Kyiv Conservatory; in 1977, from the Faculty of Opera and Symphony Conducting of the Lviv Conservatory.

In 1961-1979, he worked at the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theatre, and since 1979 he has been the artistic director and chief conductor of the State Pop and Symphony Orchestra of the Ukrainian SSR. Since 1988, he has been the artistic director of the Tavria Song and Dance Ensemble.

He lived in Kyiv. He died on 11 October 1998. He was buried at the Forest Cemetery.
