Akulenko Mykola Ivanovych

1888-1971

Akulenko Mykola Ivanovych (* 5 February 1888, Starodub, Chernihiv province - 1971) was a Ukrainian opera singer (dramatic tenor). He had an extremely beautiful voice with a wide range, high vocal culture, and dramatic talent.

Biography.
He studied at the Kyiv School of Arts (class of O. Hladyshevska), while working at the Kyiv Shipyard until 1931.

In 1931-1935, he was a soloist of the Ukrainian Left Bank Opera. In 1935-1936, he performed at the Perm, 1936-1937 - Tashkent, 1937-1940 - Kuibyshev, 1940-1941 - Dnipro Opera and Ballet theatres.
