Akopova Lilian

Lilian Hakopova (born 17 June 1983, Yerevan, Armenian SSR) is a Ukrainian pianist of Armenian origin.

Biography.
Lilian was born on 17 June 1983 in Yerevan.

She grew up and started studying music in Kyiv, graduating from the Lysenko Kyiv Secondary Specialised Music School (2000). In 2001-2007, she studied at the Munich University of Music and Theatre with Eliso Virsaladze, and also took masterclasses with Andras Schiff and Paul Badur-Skoda. After graduation, she stayed in Munich and taught at the Munich University of Music and Theatre. She has won a number of international competitions, including first prize at the Viana da Motta International Piano Competition (2010) and third prize at the Busoni International Piano Competition (2007, first prize withheld).

Since 2002, she has been giving concerts all over the world. In 2010, she recorded her first album with works by Schumann, Mendelssohn and Liszt. "The pianist has a phenomenal combination of poetic presentation and precision of playing, in which the musical essence of any work seems to breathe, and a very careful, reverent and careful handling of the score," noted music critics.

She is married to the pianist and conductor Henri Bonamy, with whom she often performs duets. She has two children.
